Computers

Ever since I got my first Commodore 128 I have been addicted to computers. We got our first computer when I was in fourth or fifth grade. It was a Sonyo laptop with a 20MB disk, 384KiB of RAM and a 320x240 matrix screen. We still have this laptop stashed in some drawer.

After crashing this laptop a couple of times, I got my own computer from my godfather. It was a 386SX with 40MB of disk space and 2MiB of RAM. It took up half my desk space, but that did not matter much. I had my own computer!

After spending all the money I got for my confirmation on a Pentium II 266MHz with 256MB of RAM and 6.4GiB of disk space, most of my money have been used to buy new computer equipment of some kind. I probably have enough spare parts to build one or two new computers just from the parts located in my drawers. In addition comes the fully working computers that I have on permanent storage.

My love for computers is also shown by the fact that I am studying computer science. All in all, a huge part of my life is dedicated to either using computers, studying them or organizing computer party so that we can celebrate the technology behind. My laptop is never far away from me - and I am completely addicted to the Net.

My area of interest within computer science is virtualization, large scale operations, internetworking, high level systems design and clustering. I am also interested in areas which are not directly related to the technical part of the field such as negotiating deals and project management.

Currently I own the following operational computer systems:

After playing around with my father's old camera equipment when I was yonger, I decided in 2005 to buy my own dSLR. I had used a pocket camera for some time and was quite unsatisfied with the speed of the camera. As you might have experienced yourself, a pocket camera can use from 0.5 second to more than 2 second to take the picture after you have pushed the button. This could potentially mean that you will miss the moment you wanted to capture. At least, that was the main reason for me to spend a lot of money on a dSLR camera in the first place.

After reading a lot of reviews, discussing with my father and comparing prices, I bought a Nikon D70s with its kit lens, the 18-70 f/3.5-4.5G. I have been a happy Nikonian since.

I usually takes pictures at random happenings and parties. I also enjoy taking pictures at night. I really love to use long shutter times and a tripod out in the dark. If you want to look at some of my pictures you will find them at http://gallery.slappfisk.net. As I love to be behind the camera instead of being in front, you will find quite few pictures of me in my gallery :-)

My photography addition is in the same alley as my computer addiction. Therefore, my collection of camera equipment has become quite large since 2005.

I currently own the following camera equipment:
